BioE at Rice

Hi,

I have a question for all those current students at Rice (particularly the BioE majors):
Is Bioengineering at Rice more difficult compared to the other science majors (biology/chemistry) at Rice?
I would like to apply to medical school but I don't want to end up with a low GPA.
If any one of you is a Bioengineering major, can you please provide some insight into bioengineering and the difficulty of it.

Thank you very much

I wouldn’t say more difficult, but it’s definitely a lot more work. The sophomore year in particular is rough - you spend a semester doing three huge group projects that eat up large amounts of time. They’re rewarding and you learn TONS but it is very work-intensive. However clearly we have tons of BioEs who get into good med schools all the time so it’s not that much of an issue if you do your work…
