Hello,

I graduated from Berkeley last semester in December 2011, which was my 9th semester. I have not applied to any graduate schools and am currently volunteering at a biomedical lab to make myself useful in the meantime. I plan to apply for bioE grad school, law school, or pharmacy school this upcoming fall but I honestly am unsure which path I should take. I know I need to make this decision fast so I could make time to study for the appropriate exam. I will try my best to tell you all about me. Hopefully that could help you help me. =)
My undergrad overall gpa is 3.095, and I understand that my chances of admission are slim compared to others. The biomedical lab I am volunteering at is very engineering-oriented. I find myself pretty helpless as I lack the engineering skill sets that other engineering majors have (EE, ME). More and more I feel like I am not suited in a research environment. While I still am fascinated and have vast interest in keeping up with bioengineering development, I realize I am just "too dumb" to do actual research and to come up with new ideas. I started considering pharmacy and law school. Pharmacy...it only interests me to an extent, but it comes with a stable career and, to me, a job is a job, as long as it's not something I loathe or have completely no interest in. Law school...patent/IP. This is what interests me the most. From reading several threads, it seems that a BioE master/PhD is required to pursue this career option. This again makes me reconsider applying to a BioE master program.
As you can see my mind is just all over the place. I'm afraid I'd go for something that I would regret in the near future. I'm already 2 years behind (extra college year + this upcoming year) and I cannot afford to waste any more time changing career paths and such.

Please, ANY advice is appreciated, whether it be admission chances, career options, or school choices. Thank you!
