Bioengineering

Hello to all.

I am a HS senior this year and am applying to Stanford via RD. I go to a small, independent high school and, because of the small numbers, it does not offer a lot of specialized courses, just more general courses, albeit the school is very highly regarded, or so I'm told.

While I know that no college is going to expect an applicant to know exactly what s/he wants to do in and after college, I'm leaning towards something with engineering, specifically bioengineering.

So, I'm wondering what you all know about bioengineering at Stanford and, if I do not have a lot of experience with specialized courses in engineering, etc., what I should do to prepare for a possible bioengineering major?

Thanks for reading.

stanford doesn't have a bioengineering undergrad major. though i'm sure you can major in something else and take graduate courses in bioengineering and/or do bioengineering research

All right, so you don't have to "declare a major" at Stanford until "you reach Junior status". I guess I just searched "bioengineering" and was led to the graduate page perhaps? haha, but generally, what do people consider the most interesting and employable engineering specialization? Are there any current engineering students on here? I suppose I could post this on the engineering page. But as long as I'm here, I may as well ask.
Also, how do you recommend I "dip my toes" in engineering coursework if my school does not offer such courses?
