Biology 101 with Math 104

Hello,
I am an incoming freshman in the fall and I was planning on taking Biology 101 with Math 104 in my first semester, but now I am wondering whether it will be too much of a load with adjusting to college life as well. Other than these two classes, I will be taking a writing seminar and a language class. I believe I know most of the content in Math 104 fairly well and I will be taking summer classes which will include math and biology. I appreciate any input.
Thanks!

^ I’ve requested biology 101 and math 104 also, if you plan on doing pre-med, I think it’s best to do those courses first since those are requirements. They’re also Pass/Fail courses so you just need to work hard enough to pass (at least that’s what it says next to the grading method for those courses).

Biol 101 and Math 104 are not pass fail, they follow a type of curve. I don’t think it should be too hard taking them both at once, engineers often take math, physics, and chem first semester.

definitely not pass/fail unless that’s the grading you requested. and medical schools do not accept pass/fail pre-requisite coursework.

I am taking Math 104, Bio 109, Econ 001 and Writing. I hope it isn’t too much work

So pre-meds have to select the normal grading option?

to jenga-if you’re taking bio 109 im assuming you want to be a BBB major…you may want to get some introductory bio (biol 101/102) out of the way either at the same time, or before you start to tackle bbb’s specific courses…and also consider chemistry b/c that’s harder to double up on than bio (which is lots of memorization). but the schedule you suggested is certainly not too much-very standard.

to sha-it’s not that penn cares if you take a class pass/fail, but medical schools simply do not accept pass/fail coursework…how are they gonna know if you were successful in them otherwise?

^ oh ok, also am I screwed now because advance registration ended yesterday, and I just logged into my Penn In Touch and when I clicked on “Register For Courses” it says no term is open for registration, meaning there’s no way for me to change the grading method back to normal grading?

Once advanced registration is over you can change your courses as much as your want until the add period is over.

^ ok thanks for the info

That courseload is fine.

Take biol 121 instead. Its a bit better but imo, a much better overview of biol in general than the biol 101/2 line.
