Biology AP and SAT II

I'm enrolled in Bio AP right now. I'm using CliffsAP Bio along with my school textbook. I also have Barron's SAT II Bio.

Should I...
1) Read Cliffs, Barron's, and whatever is assigned in the school textbook all at the same time, going at the pace of the class?
2) Read Cliffs and school textbook during the year, then study Barron's around SAT II time?
3) Read only the school textbook during the year, and study Cliffs and Barron's a few months before AP and SAT II test?

When I say "read textbook", I don't mean read through the whole thing. I just mean do all assignments and understand the concepts in class.

Also, since AP is in the beginning of May, should I take the SAT II in May or June? Would I need that extra month to study for SAT II after the AP exam?

Thanks for reading!

I would suggest taking the SAT II in May. My friend did and she got an 800 on the test. But ahe only got a 4 on the AP. The tests arent that similar.

Method number 1 sounds like too much work. Do method number 2.

i would say do method 2..doing method 1 requires too much work...i did method 3 but i think i could've prob done better with the cliffs book (not that i did better)..c if u need the cliffs book in class..if u do, use it..i used the cliffs book about a couple of weeks before the ap test & got a 5 (it was helpful)..a couple of days before the june sat bio, i started learning the barrons book (& it was kinda hard learning all that material in a couple of days) & got a 640!

Method 3 sounds good, but I managed without a book specifically for the SAT II Biology test.

Following coursework is definitely more important than reading either of the test-preparation books, and I advise taking the test in May, too, since the combination of the SAT and AP test within days of each other gives you that extra motivation to do some studying for them. I kind of approached the SAT II test as prep for the AP (or was it vice versa?) and end of doing fine on both of them.
