Biology AP?

I've taken regular biology and it was easy...but should I now enroll in AP Bio? Is it any different?

My school is only going to offer only 3 AP (History, English, BIO) and I want to make the most of it.

Should I skip the bio or what? I rather avoid the unnecessary...

BTW I'm not into science.

thanks!

update:

realized this is the wrong sub forum. If an admin would kindly move this thread to the appropriate section it would be much appreciated!

thanks cc!!

What would be the alternative to AP biology? What does the rest of your schedule look like?

If there is something more interesting, it will probably be more beneficial for you than AP biology.

On the other hand, if biology is the only AP available, you might as well take advantage of it to pass out of the general science requirement in college.

The other sciences are:

Chemistry - No, math is not my forte.
Earth Science - I have no idea what this is
Marine Biology - ...ok. Like oceanography?

I'm pretty set on the Marine Bio...though..

it's such a boring class... seriously. boring, but manageable.

it is difficult though?

it depends.

it's a lot of memorization, and depending on your teacher, on tests you could be given reasoning questions, which means you have to apply what you've learned and apply it. i'd say it's fairly hard.

AP Bio is the most boring subject ever. I regret taking it. I loved regular Honors Biology freshman year and I loved science but AP Bio makes me want to kill myself everytime I go in the class.

well should i take it?

if i dont it will mean i only have 2 AP. frosh+soph ap was never offered and there won't be honors science..

im a good student but add is killler ya know?

What are you going to major in?

I mean, I don't want to do anything science but I'm taking AP Bio now so when I take Bio in college it'll be easier.

well im going to be majoring in the "arts". nothing sciencey or math...but if I take AP bio I won't have to pay 20k for it in college...right?

if it is going to drag down my gpa or exhaust me...

not quite 20k, i dont know costs exactly, but it cant be more than a few thousand

Okay, AP bio is nothing like regular, or even honors bio. It is much harder. But, if your school only offers 3 AP's, and you want to go somewhere selective, take all 3, regardless of how hard it is. They want to see that you took the most challenging courses you could.

AP Bio isn't horribly hard. I would suggest you take it; biology is becoming increasingly important in the modern world.
