Hi, I'm an admitted undergraduate freshman to Columbia interested in biology. I'm trying to decide between Columbia, Cornell, Brown, and Penn. I'd like a place that would greatly prepare me for the MCAT and medical school, have decent grade inflation, teaching-oriented professors who pay enough attention to undergrads, and an environment that isn't cutthroat competitive. How about research opportunities and internships? Is Columbia the place to go for the biological sciences? Any input about the quality of Columbia's bio program would be greatly appreciated.

Any comments would be appreciated!

brown places students into medical schools better than columbia does, and is a wonderful place to be pre-med--very collegial & laid back, lots of interaction w/ profs, famously great profs for bio and orgo, and lots of wonderful research/volunteer opportunities
