Could somebody please explain admissions to biology at holy cross. Is it harder to get into the school as a biology major. What are the admissions statistics? Would you recommend the chemistry or biology program?

I seem to recall that they recently changed their policy to accept people into these programs after a semester or two rather than at the outset at HC. HC has a wonderful reputation for chemistry, biology and the sciences in general and is highly regarded with a fantastic new science building. Definitely one of the top programs nationally.

Holy Cross has long had a good program in Chemistry. My father, who is 88, graduated with a BS in Chemistry from Holy Cross in 1943, received his commission as an Ensign in the US Navy and fought in the South Pacific during WWII. After the war he was able to find a good position in industry as a chemist and had a very good career.

If you’re interested in going into medicine, you could apply for the Bio/Pre-Med program. It’s very selective and prestigious.
