Can anyone describe how it is like being a pre-med or biology major at NYU, how are the classes(are they really that big)? how are the teachers? How hard is it to maintain a gpa of 3.5 or higher without getting lost among the crowd and red tapes? Do you feel well prepared for med school. Where can i find the statistics on medical school acceptance. ANY SUGGESTIONS, thank you!

ANYONE! No suggestions at all???

someone answering this would be so niceee

Try posting on the main forum instead of the 2014 section. Today I was at the open house and the Dean said that it was one of the Biology I was the biggest classes on campus but that it was split up into groups of like 15-20 students. Also, they guaranteed prerequisite classes in professional paths like Pre-med and pre-law. Anyway, it was just a small glimpse of what I heard. Like I said, try posting on the main forum.

I really don’t know much, but I recently went to NYU and asked a student the same question regarding biology. I heard being a biology major is very similar to being pre-med, you take a lot of the same classes. The biology program at NYU is supposedly very rigorous and often includes long, difficult labs that may last many hours and take up time on the weekend. They advised me that I should only do it if I was really passionate about and set on the major.

I don’t know if you have looked around the Biology department’s website yet, but if you haven’t you should. It may give you a better idea of what it is like and will probably answer some of your statistical questions. If not, there is probably contact information that will allow you to get in touch with someone who knows.
