Hi all! I’m currently a senior in HS and took an interest in Tulane. I was wondering, can anyone tell me more about the rigor, workload, etc. of sciences (particularly biology) at Tulane? How are the research opportunities for undergrads? I’m thinking of going on the pre-med track and wanted to know more about what the school’s biology is like. Thanks!
I can only answer part of your question. The rigor and workload is a lot. My student is a cell and molecular Biology major on the pre med track. I can tell you she has to study A LOT more then most of her friends who are not science majors. I’m not sure about the research opportunities yet, but I’ve heard they are quite good.
@maxihk If your student is in their first semester and taking Cell and Molecular Bio with Dr. V, things will ease up a bit after that class. It is notorious on campus and is a pre-med weed out course.
@pishicaca She is in that class. She’s thanking her lucky stars she took AP Biology in high school, otherwise she’d be in serious trouble! Luckily she loves Biology, but she also has Chem, which for her is worse then Bio. She’s doing great though and loves it!
