I got a phone call and email from berkeley MCB as well. Looks like ill be busy in california

Does that mean if you're invited to the recruitment weekend you are more or less accepted?

Sort of, but not entirely. Most schools accept the majority of those who interview, but not everybody. It's hard to get exact numbers, but I don't think any school accepts less than 60% of those they interview, and I don't think any school accepts more than 90% of those they interview. Most schools seem to accept around 75%.

My friend got an interview from CSHL yesterday.

Did anyone apply to the developmental biology program at Stanford? if so, have you heard back? Was it email/phone/USPS?

If I'm considering doing my graduate work in developmental biology more specifically stem cells; do you think I should go to UCSF or MIT?

bo435, I heard back from Stanford developmental biology today by USPS. I think someone here knows somebody who heard back from them last week or earlier, possibly by a different medium.

I have a question for those of you who have heard from Berkeley MCB: do you have any idea what the interview date(s) is/are? I've just heard from a faculty member - a very, very awesome one btw - but haven't received anything from admissions about the visit. (Maybe tomorrow during business hours?)

snowcapk, thanks for the reply. Do you mind telling me if it's an interview invitation from stanford or do they start sending out rejections already? Thanks!

snowcapk- the berkeley interview is right before stanfords- i think Sun-Tuesday. It seems like the schools coordinate well- Stanford seemed to indicate that there was a bus or something between Berkeley and Stanford on Wednesday.

bo, it was an invitation. ec, awesome, thanks!

Congrats everyone with your awesome interviews/acceptances.:) I am still waiting to hear from Stanford, Harvard, MIT and JHU. :( FYI for international students: I emailed JHU and they said that international applicants have still not been evaluated.

I'm not sure if someone has posted this, but has anyone heard from Stanford (Cancer Biology or Genetics) or UCSD (BMS)?

There is a bus, and Berkeley interviewees get an entire free afternoon and evening to themselves in Palo Alto, because the Stanford interview doesn't start until the next day (or at least that's how it worked two years ago). It was a much-needed night off.

did anyone hear back from stanford immunology?

Anyone hear back from any program of the Columbia BMS?

Wash U called me up and I will be interviewing Feb. 14th. Autocell I will see you up there...still waiting on my long shot MIT...computational biology

Anyone apply to Yale BBS for the computational biology/bioinformatics track?

Woohoo, just got a phone call from Harvard Genetics, BBS program! I'm in!

this might be a longshot but...did anyone else apply to the new Harvard Human Bio and Translational medicine PhD program (under DMS/BBS)?

btw congrats Star4Wars

Thank you, and good luck with the new HBTM program!
