<p>Is it true that kingdom Monera no longer exists and that the current system (that will be tested on the SAT II Bio test) consists of the three domains (Baacteria, Archaea, and Eukarya)?</p>
<p>I have the 2007-2008 prep book and under taxonomy, it has 5 kingdoms (one of which is monera). Is this outdated?</p>

<p>Monera isn’t widely used anymore. It’s been replaced by Bacteria and Archaea.</p>
<p>Maybe your prep book is focusing on it from a “history of biology” standpoint? Monera hasn’t been officially acknowledged since 1977.</p>
