Hi, I'm going to be a student at college park in fall 2013. I was put in Letters and Sciences, but plan to go into biology (cell biology and genetics). I am in a "magnet" program at my school called the biomedical sciences program. Successful completion of the program earns me college credit for biology from Stevenson University. Here's the link College Credit for High School Students « Maryland Project Lead the Way. Do you think UMD will accept this? If so, what will it get me out of? Also, I'm in ap biology right now. If I do well on the test and get a 4 or 5, what could I potentially get out of? If I did well, could I get out of extra biology classes since I may already get out of some with the Stevenson University credit? Thank you.

@Yellowdog, if you score a 5 on the AP exam you will get credit for:

BIOLOGY/SCR 5 P 4.00 BSCI105 LL
BIOLOGY/SCR 5 P 4.00 BSCI106 LL

(the above is how it appears on your transcript)
It appears the credit from Stevenson would just be bsci105 only. So concentrate on getting 5s on your AP exams. Although some credit is given for a score of 4, I personally would not feel comfortable taking any credit since you can miss a ton of questions and still get a 4.

Thanks! I will try to get a 5.
