Posted this on SAT/ACT thread too, but, here goes...

Okay, my friend and I are freshmen this year, and at my school Biology is the required sophomore science. So, next year my friend and I were planning on taking Gate Biology, until we heard of someone who had a special circumstance and took AP Biology sophomore year without having taken any biology previously. What do you think my friend and I should do? I'm a good student, but science has never been my strong point--my friend is extremely strong in all subjects. These are the textbooks each class uses:

don't go into ap bio without taking a regular biology class beforehand. Unless you'r really smart, or really good at memorizing things FAST you will FAIL.

EVERYONE at my school takes academic or honors biology before entering ap. its almost a requirement. This year we had about 5 people in my class who did not do this, needless to say they all dropped out at the end of the semester, 2 of them had D's. the others had like c-'s.

AP Biology is easy since it's just a lot of memorization. If you think you can do it and you are willing to commit to it (i.e. no slacking off), then you should do AP Biology.
