Biology Honors/Regular Biology

Same here, no weighted classes. That is why GPA is so important for us @skieurope

Meh. From what you’ve said, you should be able to handle the Honors class. However, I will tell you that over the course of 4 years, the impact of any one class on a GPA will be minuscule, and certainly not enough to spend time analyzing pros and cons of taking honors vs regular. :slight_smile:

I am also taking AP World, and other honors, so I am expecting a grade deflation no matter what, as they told us to expect that, but thank you :slight_smile: :slight_smile: @skieurope

@skieurope I wasn’t saying that the biology SAT test requires AP Biology; I was just saying that the extra knowledge that the AP class provides you with would definitely help and give you less self studying. I know that SAT tests don’t require AP classes, they just tend to help.

Take Honors if you can. Get extra help if you need it. You can always drop back in difficulty levels with science but not foward. Also are you female? If so make sure your GC isn’t biased.

I am male. You cant drop out of honors if you go into it, which is where I am stuck, its 4 times the work at my school, and you go into regular the next year anyways, there are so many pros and cons @bopper

@writer80 Thank you very much for your kind words!

Have a good day!

@Shanban1607 @LeopardFire @anthonytheboy @nyuhopeful44 @bopper Update you guys: After carefully and strategically discussing this with my GC and mom and dad we all feel it is best for me to take Biology Honors. Thanks for the help again! I think colleges would rather see a B in an honors than an A in a regular, right?

I definitely think so, good luck :wink:

@Shanban1607 @LeopardFire @anthonytheboy @nyuhopeful44 @bopper Update you guys:
After discussing this with my GC and mom and dad at a pre-orientation meet and greet, we decided Biology Honors was a better fit for me after all. Thanks!

@writer80 Yes, colleges love seeing a B+ in a Honors class better than an A or A- in a regular and love it even more if you get a B or better in AP courses.

Have a good day and good luck!

Thanks, you too! @anthonytheboy
