I got accepted as a biology major for CSULB and UCR. I’m torn apart between the two schools because CSULB is only a 10 minute drive away from home and is significantly less expensive than UCR. However when I was touring both campuses I liked UCR better because the student body felt friendly and I liked the campus. The campus at CSULB is nice too, but there were many students older than me (about 23 and up) and I felt very small and out of place there. Besides the student body, I think I’ll have an upper hand in CSULB since UCR’s grading system is very hard. I want to pursue a veterinarian career, so which school would be best for me? Thanks

How would you pay for the added cost at UCR??
There are going to be older students on both campuses. however the majority will be young, like you.
@sakurabunny24 UCR has a better program in biology than CSULB. Usually I would recommend saving money and go to the college closest to home. But there are advantages to attending a UC school. After you finish your undergraduate you can apply to top vet schools like UC Davis. Having a undergraduate degree from a UC school might help your chances of getting into a good vet school. Good luck!
