Biology major/Environmental science minor

Hi! I’m trying to decide what to major in and needed some advice… I love biology and i’d love to work with animals specifically. My goal was always to go to vet school, but i’m not sure if I want to because of how selective it is and the general job description. I’ve always been interested in wildlife conservation/ecology, so I have a few questions.

  1. How hard is a biology major? I’m taking AP Bio next year but I took pre-ap and had a 100 all year in that class.
  2. Is environmental science math heavy? What can I expect in environmental classes?
  3. Do you think this major/minor will help lead me towards a career in conservation?
    Thank you so much!!
  1. I am majoring in Ecology and there are fewer hard classes like chem, physics, cell bio, etc. than there are in our general bio major. I like that because I can focus on classes within bio that suit my interests.
  2. Environmental science is pretty math heavy.
  3. Biology is a great major for conservation! That, in fact, is where I want to direct my career.
