Biology major student in orchestra?is it possible?

<p>If I am a biology major student,,,is it possible to take orchestra class for four years??</p>

<p>D looked into this - to get credit/grade, for every 2 ensemble classes, you will have to take a music theory class. If you don’t want/need the credit, I believe you don’t have to take the theory class</p>

<p>It is absolutely possible. Most of the people in Cornell’s musical ensembles are not music majors. If it wasn’t for people like you, Cornell would have no musical ensembles, considering that there are only about 20 music majors.</p>

<p>A lot of people take the “course” for no credit, but it is also possible to take it for one credit. My daughter is in one of the Winds groups, and she took it for credit by mistake one semester. There was no difference in the experience. In the Winds, at least, they’re fairly strict about attendance even if you’re not taking it for credit. The S/U grade for 0 credits shows up on your transcript, and they can sort of enforce attendance because having a U appear there would look silly, even though it wouldn’t affect your GPA.</p>
