Recently, I have been looking around at different colleges and fields of study. I know that I love to animals and would love to have a job working with animals. However, everywhere that I look, it seems to me that I would have to major in biology. However, in school, I hated the course, more specifically, learning about cells and what makes them up and how they function. Will I be forced to major in biology to have my preferred job?

Not if you go into the lucrative profession of dog grooming.

You didn’t say what was your preferred job, except to mention some vague notion of working with animals.

Besides biology, the other field which you might consider is psychology. However, it is very doubtful that you could avoid biology completely. At the very least, you would have to take a general biology course which will certainly have inits on cell biology and other areas you might dislike. If you approached things from the psychology side, you also might have to do some neuroscience work.

Here are some links from the applied psychology side of things:

Other areas would be the appled biology field of Wildlife & Fisheries Management, usually in a College of Agriculture or Forestry/Natural Resources. You still won’t be avoid all the areas of biology that you dislike.
