Biology/Pre-Med at Georgetown vs. Tufts

I'm currently torn between these two. I really like Georgetown but I think since I'm studying Biology/Pre-med path, Tufts would be a better choice for me. Any advice?

Can anyone tell me the percentage of Georgetown/Tufts students that get accepted to Med school?

I haven't gotten my financial aid packages yet. I hate to say this but in the end it may just boil down to whichever college gives me more money. =/

Thanks everyone!

at the undergraduate level, both schools will serve you similarly well, though I suspect Tufts would give you a better financial aid package.

Really? I heard neither give that much aid. =/

How are the facilities at Gtown?
Do you know harsh Georgetown’s grading system is?

alicimoo:

Georgetown’s science facilities are generally regarded as…old…and rather ancient compared to facilities at schools like JHU, Cornell, etc. However, they’re useable.
The grading is not to tough at Georgetown as grades overall are a bit inflated.

Tufts has a higher endowment and offers more financial aid on average than Georgetown. The science facilities might be a bit better too, though GTown’s location, imo, is much better. Also, you don’t have to play third wheel with MIT and Harvard right by you.

what is the acceptance rate to medical schools from Tufts versus that of Georgetown?

it’s 90% for georgetown.

disclaimer: this number is students who are recommended for admission by the pre-med committee and accepted in their first application cycle. this detail might make it seem like the stat is bogus, but it’s the only way to accurately measure the school’s strength at getting students accepted. any acceptance rate to med schools from a given college will be similarly reported.
