Biology related major

Is there anyone with a bio related major who hasn't heard anything yet? I'm really worried that since I haven't heard anything yet it means that I'm getting rejected

I haven’t heard anything yet either.
Last week they notified me about needing to send in some documents for financial aid. I don’t think it means anything though. D:

What are your stats? And yeah I got that too that they needed some documents for financial aid but they were the only uc that asked me so maybe that indicates something. Davis and San Diego didnt ask and I got rejected from both.

My stats:
Gpa: 3.7 UW/ 4.2 W
Sat: 1930
Good ec’s and essay

I was rejected from UCD as well. >_<
The colleges I mainly want to get into are UCR and UCI.

My stats:
GPA: 3.7 UW / 3.7 W (I never took any AP classes,which I regret,… so I think my Weighted/UW are suppose to be the same? )
SAT: 1420 (Also low. ;3; )
Pretty good EC’s and essay.

Also in top 13% of my senior class.

Bio Science, Biomedical Engineering
GPA: 3.3 UW, 3.9 UCW
SAT: 2120
Solid ECs and essays.
Highly competitive HS

Haven’t gotten a decision from Irvine yet. Rejected from UCD and waitlisted for UCSD. Admitted for UCSC. :frowning: I’m so scared that Irvine will be another rejection or waitlist (kinda means rejection). Does this mean no hope for the other UCs? (UCSB, UCLA, Berkeley) I doubt UCLA/Berkeley, but I don’t want to go to UCSC or UCSB. I would be very happy with Davis, UCSD, or Irvine, so now Irvine’s my only hope.

Does anyone know when the next batch comes out? and how they’re sending out decisions? Since it seems like a lot of engineering majors got it today already and some of my friends with bio majors already got in, does this mean I’m already rejected? :(

I really hope that’s not what it means. I got rejected from Davis and SD so I’m pretty sure Berkeley and LA are out and now am relying on irvine.

i chose to major in biology as well. my stats are UC GPA: 3.82, SAT: 2110, solid ec and essays. I was rejcted from davis and san diego as well. I really hope uci accepts me.

on a related note, does anybody know who is more selective for their admissions, irvine or santa barbara?

actually guys, on the admissions decisions thread, i’ve counted 4 bio majors that got accepted, including 2 in the early going… they had really good gpa’s, too. i hope UCI doesn’t take the UCD and UCSD route of valuing gpa more than anything else.

Just checked a minute ago and I got in! There is hope guys!
Biological sciences.

I wish everyone the best!!

What time did you find out? Did it just recently update or was it probably updated from morning?

congrats chameleon!

Just recently. I would know because I’ve been checking like crazy since this morning. I’ve been periodically checking and refreshing at around :00 and :30 marks and when I checked at around 9pm (today) from CA, it changed!!!

and thanks iberick!! :D

i tried to signin twice already, and it keeps saying reauthincating and brings me back to the signin page. i think i’m actually logged in as it shows my name, with the option to logoff, on the top right corner. is this hapenning to anybody else?

Do you guys see your acceptances right when you logged in? I applied for Biological Science but got nothing yet.

Congrats!! Btw did you get an email yet?

Congratz Chameleon!

@iberick That happens to most people. What I do is go to admissions.uci.edu and click the message center square at the left, and sign in that way. =3

The re-authenticating thing has happened to me many times before. You just have to enter your info in again (usually takes two times) to log in.

Right when I log in I see “You have been admitted to UC Irvine!” in cursive on the home page and the stuff under is all changed/different.

And no email yet.

I think UCI might actually be sending decisions out not by majors but by points? (like combo of GPA+SAT+etc and the higher scorers get the decisions first) This is just based on my observation of accepted people’s stats posted on cc though

@chameleon2 did you get any emails from uci about the financial aid? like they ask you for additional information.

Okay thank you, congrats btw!

Yeah, but I think everyone got that because we turned in our fafsa because I checked with all my friends and that’s what we think. The people who turned in their fafsa earlier got that email earlier and I turned mine in later so I got the email later too.

Not sure tho, that’s just what my friends and I think.
