I am thinking of taking the Biology SAT this june since I am currently taking A.P. Bio, and I am pretty strong at biology. I still have two more years to get 2 SAT II's done, but I think I should just take the Bio SAT so I will only have to take one more (what colleges require 3 SAT II's?).

Also, should I start studying for the Bio SAT after my Bio A.P. test which is in May, or is that too late? I have a Kaplan study guide just waiting to be opened, but what is the best study guide for Bio? Lastly, what is the deadline for signing up for the june Bio SAT? thanks.

Check the CB site for registration dates. Look around for colleges that require 3 SAT II’s; they are mostly the highest tier colleges.

If you study for AP Bio, then 1 month to study for the subject test is fine. After all, the AP test is more indepth than the subject test.

i think you can certainly wait until after ap bio to start studying for the subject test, since they cover very similar topics. That should give you about a month which is more than enough time to learn learn anything that didn’t come up in preparing for the ap.

i don’t know what the best book to prep with is, but I know that in general barrons books are considered to be very challenging, but mastering them guarantees you a good score on the test, so maybe this is something you’d be looking for. i’d you’ll be fine though if you’re doing well in ap and just look over the kaplan book.

hey i am a freshmen currently taking biology and preparing to take a sat bio this fall. do u know if colleges gives consideration if like my score is 680 and iwas a freshmen? thanks

I would advise against taking the SATII Bio off of general Bio. Of course, that would be my opinion taking root from my school’s far-less-than-rigorous general biology courses.

Be ready to work, this level of bio goes into a disturbing level of depth.

No, colleges don’t shrug a bad score off just because you were a freshman. That would be stupid, it’s not like you are forced to take the test as a freshman.

ok thanks bc biology honor gave me a good foundation and thought if i could teach myself i will be able to get a descent score. actually my mom is pushing me lol, she thinks bc she is docter she could help me for my bio sat and i will be to pull it off.

you can take the bio subject test after taking regular bio and still get a decent score albeit not a superb one.

i know someone who has and got a 650. decent but not excellent. ya dig?

As a Freshman, I took the Honors Biology my school offers and I had all A’s including midterms and finals.

The day after my final I had the SAT II. I did not own a study book nor did I review at all besides my preparation for the final. I got a 700 - nothing special, but I can’t complain. I had a good teacher though. The SAT II in Biology is simple…
