<p>What are some good non Ivy league biology (or Ivy league priced) schools?</p>
<p>What else are you looking for? Large, small, medium sized? LAC or research uni? Location? And give us an idea of your stats so we can tailor our suggestions to your needs.</p>
<p>I'd like to find a small or medium size research school. Though I could go with an LAC. I would like to be in the north whether it is in the midwest or in the east. I guess not to north. I don't want to freeze. Maybe somewhat diverse. </p>
<p>I want to major in Biology and minor in either Psychology or Neuroscience.</p>

<p>Come on. Someone has to know a good bio school.</p>
<p>Harvard, John Hopkins, Berkeley, Columbia, Duke</p>
<p>I heard Reed College's biology programs are decent.</p>
<p>Dartmouth has a very strong biology department.</p>
<p>Are you concerned about the school's price because you won't qualify for fin'l aid? There are dozens, if not hundreds of schools that have good bio programs, have you not done any research? Do you have any preferences at all? Bio is a very competitive field. I've heard that if you want med school admission, you'll do well at a small LAC with good admit rates.</p>
<p>Your stats are very good and your EC's except for the SAT. Any idea on why that is so average, when the rest of your package is stellar? It just seems to be the only brakes. </p>
<p>If cost is the concern, look at Fiske or other guides for bang-for-buck colleges like Rice.</p>
<p>Duke really impressed me with it's bio/neurobio offerings when I went to an "up-close" program in April. Didn't end up going there, but was tempted...</p>
<p>Well I want to study Biochemistry/Molecular Biology and as far as I know for the best it seems that JHU,HARVARD AND PRINCETON are way up there. You also need to know what do you really want out of the program.For neuroscience Biochemistry is big if not the major component of the course.</p>
<p>Grinnell is a good choice for a LAC and so is Colby,Carelton,
but i really need to knwo from you any others that anyone knws especially safety schools</p>
<p>Another school to check out is Denison, an excellent LAC in the midwest. It has a very good biology department.</p>
<p>Look at Boston U, Tufts, and Northeastern. NEU has an outstanding internship program with placements at top biotech companies like Biogen, Amgen, and Genzyme, and at hospitals in the Longwood Medical District which includes Harvard Med School).</p>
<p>Take a look at Wisconsin. Huge biosciences programs and actively recruiting minorities--especially for sciences.</p>
<p>In the Northeast, also look at Brandeis.</p>

<p>If you can raise your SAT by a 200 points, you can pretty much get into almost every university in the country with a full scholarship.</p>
<p>Haverford has a highly regarded molecular biology program and very high medical school admit rates (92 - 100% in recent years). They are actively courting African American students.</p>
