Biology: Substitute for Biotechnology?

<p>From the research I have done, biology major doesn't seem that different from biotechnology introduction. School that I am thinking of attending doesn't have biotech even though that is what I want to major in. Maybe I could major in biology and get a masters in biotechnology... any thoughts?</p>

<p>Bioengineering or chemical engineering would be best for work in the biotech industry. Biology and biotech grads have very poor salaries and career prospects (see other threads).</p>
