I am looking to go to a top ranked science school... Ivies or washU or JHU... I am going to major in biology... But let's compare the majors of bio and chem... List your idea and pros and cons... Which one is easier to do well in. I am going to do Pre med track.

Biology is typically easier to get good grades in.

Both have absolutely atrocious job/career prospects but biology is worse. The only use for the degree is as a stepping stone for professional school in healthcare fields. So keep in mind if you don’t get admitted to med or another professional school you are stuck with a worthless degree.

No specific major is required to do pre-med, although many pre-meds do biology, presumably since the pre-med courses are about half of the courses needed for a biology major. But the pre-med courses can be taken alongside any major. In most cases, they should fit alongside humanities, social studies, math, or statistics fairly easily, although some majors with large numbers of non-overlapping course requirements like engineering (other than chemical or biomedical) or music may be difficult to take the pre-med courses alongside.
