Incoming freshman to Georgia Tech! I just need to have a better insight from those who know more than I. Should I really go for the sciences instead of engineering at GT? I know my academic level and with my inevitable low GPA is it really worth it? Would the hiring opportunities be any different that if I were to be and engineering major with around the same GPA? The school year hasn't even started and I'm already stressing out.

Unless you plan on going to grad school straight from college, I would strongly suggest doing engineering over science. All other things being equal, engineering majors have much better job prospects.

@lukequin90: Unless you are pre-med, you don’t need a super high GPA in engineering…just saying. Also, biology for undergraduate is just not as good at Tech as the engineering disciplines. Engineering depts, has better job prospects, more stimulating courses (that help you gain more skills), and better instruction it seems. Also, it’s really silly to write yourself off as going to get an inevitably low GPA. How is that attitude going to help you perform?
