Current students, what is the undergraduate biology program like at W&M? I loved everything about the school, but then I realized that it is ranked 130th for biology. I also noticed that on college prowler, many posts on bio were negative. I'm not too caught up in numbers so I have no problem overlooking the ranking, but I want to make sure that WM bio students find jobs/internships and get into grad school. What are the research opportunities? I will not be pre-med. Thanks!

Apparently CC blocks out the name of the other college information website?

I’ve had the same question. Anyone…?

As for outcomes, there’s this: http://career.wm.edu/CFM/OutcomesIndex.cfm?#job - bearing in mind it’s survey-based.

DD was a bio major, pre-med, is now a MD. Loved the program, loved the facilities, and loved the professors. Got to do some pretty intense research in a virology lab; iirc, including 2 summers doing research and 1 overseas summer for Monroe. I don’t really have a lot of insight into the job prospects of non-med BS degree holders - I always thought that it was one of those fields where you needed to do post-graduate work to really make a career of it.

Sorry I can’t really be definitive, other than to say it was a very positive experience for her, with some courses and research that she really loved.
