Biology with a Microbiology Subplan

Hi broncos.

I want to change my major to Biology with a Microbiology subplan. The last time that that specifc major was listed in the university catalog was in 2016-17. Can i still do that major?

CPP no longer offers the Microbiology sub plan but you can take Microbiology course electives as an Emphasis.

From the catalog:

Emphasis 4 - Microbiology

Recommended Electives

So if I want a masters in microbiology, will I be more likely to be accepted into a program with these recommended electives? Or do the grades matter more?

Graduate program requirements can vary so it best to look at each school of interest. GPA, relevant college coursework, major related job experience, LOR’s, GRE scores can all contribute to getting into a Grad program. I would meet with your academic advisor at CPP.

But in general do you think an emphasis in microbiology with good grades would make my chances good at universities with a masters in microbiology?

I really cannot comment in regards to Graduate programs.

Thanks for your help.
