If you're a biology major, how big are the classes again?

the intro classes are HUGE [about 560-600students]. upper level classes become smaller but are still pretty large.

Actually some of the biology classes border 1k students =.=
I didn't get in to BIO 203 because of the massive amounts of students already in it. According to what one of my profs told me, it was around 800-900 students? I dunno :O

yea... i meant 560-600 students in one lecture room

Wow. Isn't it hard to learn something out cos of the 1 k of students

From what I heard, SBU has good science department...classes are murder though

Yes they are and it is really cut throat. Don't accept any hand-me downs. Few profs are caring, but most are cocky and are more conerned with their research than you. Be prepared to work hard b/c exams are crazy hard and no curves.

um.....it isn't really that cut throat...i've been getting A's in pretty much all my chem and bio classes and it really isn't that hard. it isn't difficult if you keep up a daily habit of studying. studying a little here adn there instead of cramming really helps. Me and my friends study everyday (everyday being monday through thurs) for like an hour or two, and we're acing all our classes.
It's true that the profs don't give a crap about you though >_>
I've only met a handful of caring profs.
