BIOMATH 106, and MATH 115 question

Anyone take this class before? I'm a having a very hard time finding a third class on my schedule and this seems to be only choice left. It is said that you require to some programming but I don't know how much really is "some."

Also, how difficult is math 115a compare to the lower div. linear algebra?

any info will be appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

Most people regard 115a as one of the more difficult upper div math classes. I guess there is some truth to that considering how easy some of them are, however, I don’t think 115a is that difficult. It is more abstract and complex than 33a, but I think with a decent commitment, it’s ok.

Thank you very much for the info. I’m a biochem major but I ended up taking all the math courses at my CC because I really love math and I don’t know why I do. This coming semester is going to be my first semester at UCLA and I’m only doing 3 classes, I just hope that the classes won’t shock me so much (difficulty wise).

As long as you don’t fall behind, it’ll be ok. Go to OH if you need help. What I have found works really well is get like 1-2 people in the class you can be friends with that you can do the hw with and study with.

Math 115 really depends on the professor. I’ve heard some people say it was one of their easiest upper divs while others, like me, didn’t enjoy it very much. Most of those who thought it was easy were given practice tests that were much like the tests themselves.

Anyway, if you decide to take 115, don’t take it with Green.
