Biomedical Engineering at Duke

I'm interested in BME. The question I want to ask you is, are the courses going to be very restricted to sciences courses (such as physics, chemistry). I'm asking because I want to take other courses like psychology, but I'm more interested in BME than pure biology (which would be CAS).

Would I be able to enjoy some freedom in taking non-engineering courses at COE if I'm applying for BME?

Thanks!

Look at the sample curriculum to get an idea of the typical course progression and flexibility:

There are definitely a fair number of required courses, but there is enough flexibility to take courses outside the engineering scope. Double majoring in BME and something in Trinity is actually relatively common. I minored in psychology while majoring in BME without having to overload any semester or take any summer courses. So, it’s definitely doable.
