Just wondering who got Accepted or Waitlisted to Biomedical Engineering at UC Davis and whether they plan on attending/joining the waitlist. Also, go ahead and post your stats.
Grats to all of you in advance.
I was waitlisted to it, you can see my stats on one of my older posts.
I got accepted to UC Davis for Biomedical engineering! I’m pretty happy about it since I know a lot of really qualified people were waitlisted or rejected. Admissions, especially for UC schools, really feel like a crapshoot to me.
I’m OOS, and I have a weighted GPA of 4.67 (UC weighted: 4.35) and UW of 3.87, an ACT score of 32, and an SAT Math II score of 800. I have pretty strong EC’s and really strong leadership positions (VP in three clubs, one of which is Science Natonal Honor Society, and Treasurer for three clubs). I also volunteer a lot and worked a lot in freshman and sophomore year to help my parents with finances (we are low income minorities).
I really think my essays helped, though, because I definitely spent a long time on one of them and wrote about the difficulty of transferring to another school. My other one was about my Asian-American background; it wasn’t as good as my other one, but it was solid.
I have no idea if I’m going to go or not, because I also got accepted to UCSD, but for my alternate major, molecular synthesis chemistry, got waitlisted at UCLA, and I’m still waiting on Berkeley.
Best of luck to you! Hope you get off the waitlist!
@AstraeaX A friend of mine is in the same position as you and he likes UCSD much better. He plans on going into UCSD for Biochemistry (his alt major) and wants to eventually transfer into Biomed engi in UCSD. That’s definately a possibility if you like UCSD better than Davis.
