How strong is this major at UM? I know that UM's strengths don't really lie in their engineering department, but is this major any better?

bump, please

bump please!

I just graduated from UM this May and was a BME major. It’s a pretty good department and they are working to expand and grow, the faculty are great and it’s really easy to get involved in research which is important if you want to eventually do grad school. The strong ties with the med school are also a plus for the department. Although it’s not a highly ranked program, I had no problem getting into multiple top 10 grad schools for BME and now being in a program with kids who went to MIT, Stanford, GATech and Berkeley, I feel just as a prepared as them.

Thanks so much. Your response was very insightful.

Any more opinions/information?

When we visit in February, we are going to meet with a prof in engineering (in charge of undergraduate program?) specifically to get this question answered. Might not be soon enough for you, but I will post what we find out.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that!
