Biomedical Engineering

My understanding of the CMU Biomedical Engineering program is that in order to major in BME it must be within a dual major program with another engineering branch. Is that right? What's the most common combo? And if a student decides to get the BME minor, what's the most logical (and marketable?)thing to combine it with.....a branch of engineering or a hard science (Bio? Physics?) Thanks!

There is about 12 kids in my ECE class who are doing a dual in ECE and BioMed, intersection of which is pretty new right now and extremely interesting (bioelectrical engineering or neural engineering)
Some are doing Material Science and biomed (I would assume something for tissue engineering or medical devices materials, haven’t really talked to them about their plans/ideas)
A MechE might minor or double in BME for biomechatronics (very interesting and helpful)
That’s all I can tell you about what I know in CIT, and I know one kid who’s a Chemistry major I believe minoring in BME because he’s on a pre-med track
