Biomedical Engineering???

I am a high school student and i was wondering about the above major. Some points i need answered are : what are some good schools offering this?
what kind of job opportunities are there/will i need to move to a certain area to get work?
how long will i need to go to school to complete this major, bachelors graduate school etc...

thanks for taking the time to read this.

There are many schools that offer a degree in biomedical engineering. They vary in difficulty for admissions. Post your stats if you want and we can give you an idea of where you might gain admission.

Job opportunities are limited in bioE. The industry is growing, but is not very large at the moment. Many people with the degree end up going into academia or other fields like medicine or parts sales. Not that many actually work in the industry (few firms exist). There are several threads on this...use the search tool.

The bachelor's degree usually takes 4-5 years to complete. Some programs require co-ops, so they often take up summer break.

Many would suggest that you go ChemE/ME/EE undergrad --> BME grad.

You can still do BME after your undergrad degree in something else, and it can help if you take the right courses.

This link tells a lot about BME.
