I'm a bit confused still on how the BME major works at CMU. If someone could explain that to me I'd appreciate it. Also, what's your take on the program itself, can it compete with the other BME programs such as Duke and Hopkins?

Thanks in advance!

Carnegie believes that BME is too broad of a subject to be taught alone, so they force you to double major. You can do BME + any other engineering major, and basically they will cater the biomed courses to the other specific engineering major you're taking. Since BME is not ABIT Accredited, it doesnt really compare to Duke and Hopkins, though having 2 degrees without overloading is a definite plus.
