Anything else you can tell me about Biomedical Engineering?

unfortunately, i think your sat score is a bit low. but if you are diverse (geographic or ethnic) you may be competitive. hopefully your act scores are better . i was also interested in the bme major at unc, but when i toured i also met with the head of the bme program. apparently, the bme major is NOT accredited, thus it doesn’t carry the same weight as a normal bme degree. i think you should see for yourself and make a judgment.

first off, you’re a junior. it’s way too early for you to be so preoccupied with college acceptance chances. do yourself a favor and deactivate your account on here until you really start to get close to the actual process. but anyway, a 30 is competitive, but still low. a 1450/32 is a score you should aim for in my opinion. you’ll have plenty of time to hopefully raise your gpa/sat/act until then. lastly, if you are truly interested in bme, unc is NOT the place to go. i would recommend vandy, uva, georgia tech, case western, boston u, or wisconsin. these are all good bme schools. with your current scores, case, boston u, and wisconsin are all good possibilities for you. i am NOT an adcom so don’t take any of my “chance” judgments as a true assessment, let the adcoms do that.

The UNC-CH BME program is run in conjunction with NC State University.
At NCSU you get a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. At UNC-CH, you get a BME concentration in the Applied Sciences degree. Both campuses offer MS and PhD in BME.
