Hey guys, I’m an international student from China and I got offers from both NYU and Wisconsin-Madison. I’m having trouble in deciding which one to attend. I think that in terms of fame, NYU would have an edge, and the city of New York probably provide more opportunities too. However, I’ve also heard that the chemical engineering major at Wisconsin is exceptionally good, which gives it an advantage over NYU. Also, I’ve heard that a factor to consider is the connection and resources the universities have, but I don’t know whether NYU or Wisconsin have more connections/resources. So which one will be better for me long-term? I’m really stuck between these two schools and wish someone could help me out and give me some advises.
Thank you
Both are good choices.
UW-Madison will offer the more traditional American college experience over NYU.
Unless you really love New York City, I would choose UW-Madison.
Thank you for your reply! Yeah, I don’t think I really love New York, but Wisconsin could also be too cold. I was also admitted by the chem program at UCSB, since u r from the UC system, what do u think about UCSB, compared to the other two schools?
UCSB Chemistry is top notch. Very good program.
UCSB is beautiful setting and warmer weather of course.
It’s kind of a pain to get to though.
UW-Madison will again have more traditional college experience with major Big Ten sports.
No wrong answer. Go for the campus environment you prefer.
