Does anyone here know anyone in the Biophysical Chemistry major (or perhaps take it)? How difficult is the rigor and course load? Would you recommend it?

I was a biophysical chem major at Dartmouth. For me the only real difference between that version of the chem major and the standard chem major was my senior culminating class (like the last class you take in the major) was Chem 67. Its not a major that you need to decide about freshman year, unlike Engineering. I did not decide to add the Chem major until my Junior winter term. (Granted I had taken the basic Chems incase I wanted to go to graduate school) But I would recommend the Chem department due to their commitment to teaching, and relatively small classes once you get past the classes pre-meds take.

I’m not sure what you are referring to as rigor, the Chem classes at Dartmouth in general are very challenging with lower median grades than many humanities. I definitely finished the major with a solid understanding of Chemistry, but all research I have subsequently done has been in the genetics and biochemistry fields, not biophysics.
