biostatistcs PhD program advice

I'm planning on enrolling in a PhD program in Biostatistics for Fall 2007. I've gotten various acceptance/rejection letters to most of the places I've applied. Haven't heard from Johns Hopkins yet, but as of right now, I'm pretty stuck between Univ of CA Berkeley and UNC-Chapel Hill. Does anyone know anything about either of these schools and their respective biostatistics programs? I've heard good things about both, which is making my decision pretty tough.
I've gotten some decent money from Berkeley (at least I think its decent: out-of-state tuition waved ~15k, health care costs ~9k, grad student instructorship ~15k) but still no word on financial aid from Chapel Hill. Also, Berkeley's cost of living is probably (at least) double the cost of living of Chapel Hill. Is there a polite way to inform Chapel Hill of the package I'm getting from Berkeley in an effort to make them offer me a similar/better one?
Any fellow prospective biostats students out there? If not, any advice would still be greatly appreciated!!

Hi. I see you posted this in 2007. I’m interested in biostat phd program and I’m just curious; what are you doing now? Are you in biostat? If yes, where? And how is it?
I’m freaking out about where I should apply and about grad school in general, so I would really appreciate your input.
Thanks.
