Biotechnology Major?

Is anybody here a biotech major? If so, how is it different from say a major in molecular biology or neuroscience in terms of preparing you for a job working in a laboratory or something of the sort? I am interested in hearing about the job prospects for biotech majors vs. neuroscience vs. molecular biology majors. Do they all prepare you well enough to get a job after graduation working in a lab but biotech is geared more towards working in a lab that deals just with biotech?

Also, what is it like being a biotech major at UC Davis? Is there a lot of hands on experience? Are the tests relatively similar to tests that molecular bio majors would take?

Additionally, is the biotech major a good idea for somebody interested in going to med school or would a more traditional degree like molecular bio or neuroscience be a better choice?

bump! I’m wondering this too even if the original asker probably isn’t anymore (:

nobody knows? ):

yea i would love it if this questions was answered, pleasee someone HELP!

Since no one has answered you may want to go to the major specific threads, it won’t be exactly about Davis but it will probably be similar at other schools and you may get some more help. Sorry that I don’t actually have an answer!
