Birmingham, AL What to do, Where to Eat, and Where to Stay...when flying in or visiting

Those who fly in to Bama often fly into Birmingham. Some need to stay a night or two there…and eat and shop and sight see.

So, this thread can be info about those things.

I stayed at the Hampton Inn Mountain Brook this summer. It’s has restaurants within walking distance and it’s close to downtown and the UAB campus area. Also look at Hoover, near the mall area. There’s an Embassy Suites and lots of restaurants, and it’s right off !-459.

I would look for something near The Summit in B’ham then. Lots of places to eat/shop there. There are also museums in B’ham.

There are several places on Colonnade…like Hampton Suites, Courtyard, Comfort Suites…and so forth.

Hi! I have stayed at the Drury Inn and Suites in Birmingham many times.
Since there are 2 Drury hotels in B’ham here’s the address: 3510 Grandview Pkwy, Birmingham, AL 35243.

They have a free breakfast and a “5:30pm Kickback” which is a light supper.
