So I'm a senior in high school now and i was just accepted to upenn early. I'm bisexual and out of the closet, and i live in a pretty liberal town so i have tons of guy friends and no one really has a problem with my sexuality. one of my good friends, who happens to be straight, was accepted into penn with me, and plans on joining a frat. my question is, would i be automatically shunned from all frats just because I'm bisexual?? or is it not much of an issue at penn??? any opinions/experience with this??

It depends on the fraternity, really. Some will black ball you, others just don’t care. Chances are you wouldn’t want anything to do with the fraternities that would blackball you anyway, so it’s no big deal.

what chris said. at least 3 of my brothers are gay and no one cares but I guess there are some that might have a problem with it.

i think all of the best frats (Oz, Theos, Owls, Saint A’s, PhiDelt) would blacklist you…but chances are you weren’t gonna be looking at those places anyway. Among frats considered popular, Kappa Sigma has a few gay brothers and Beta has one.

Granted there are probably a few gay guys in those “top” frats but they’re not openly gay, they’re closeted.
