hey CC. i'm a community college student planning to transfer. i'm in my first year but have dual enrollment credits. however... i had a bad 1st semester. 1 B, 1 C, 1 D, 1 F. i was put on academic warning which is the step before probation. i live i virginia and just want to transfer to VCU. they have a recommended gpa of 2.25 for transfer... after last semester mine is a 2.37 (failed a dual enrollment class when i was in highschool as well). i'm curious as to whether schools will factor in spring 2011 grades when deciding admission for fall 2011; VCU has rolling admission up until may 1st, but in order to transfer there one must be in good standing with the last institution attended, and as i said i was put on academic warning this semester. do i stand any chance for fall 2011? VCU is a relatively easy school to transfer into but that academic warning doesn't look pretty.

To be honest, you should spend at least one or two more semesters. You have only completed one semester in which you did not do so well on. Do well in your classes from this point on and show VCU that you can handle college level courses.

Apply for spring 2012.

Agree w/bc, you need to spend a full 2 yrs at your CC and solidify your college record.
