Today I came home to a bizarre voicemail on my answering machine. It was a message from Emory, clearly prerecorded, reminding me to look into some of their new financial aid information. Did any of you get this?

i did too. When i got home, my aunt was like "they'll accepted you because they called, meaning that they care about you!!!"

are you early or scholars?

Early Decision II, not scholars

I got it as well and I'm Regular scholars.... hmmmm..

This is what they're refering to:
http://news.emory.edu/Releases/FinancialAid1168533595.html

Basically, "Under Emory's new Loan Replacement Grant, students whose families' assessed income is $50,000 or less will graduate with no need-based loans from their four undergraduate years. Emory's new Loan Cap Program will assist students from families with assessed income between $50,001- $100,000 by capping their total need-based loan amount over four years at $15,000."

They're replacing loans with grant money, making Emory more affordable.

All prospective students are being notified.

Hooray for this!

Yes. I got the same message.

I’m guessing all students who applied got versions of this message. I think they are just touting their new financial aid initiatives. I doubt it has an bearing on the admissions process.

is this for international students too?

The students already in the school were also notified of this by e-mail.

cami215, did you mean current emory students?

That is very exciting, because if I get in, I very well may choose to go to Emory over all of the other schools I applied to.
