<p>Got to agree, the idea behind Urms and having a better chance is fallacious . And if being an urm is advantageous, it’s mostly in relation to his/her socioeconomic background (rarely the circumstances many urms have overcome come into consideration regardless of how those circumstances affected their scores/ec’s/essay(writing skills)…& what not. Nonetheless, life is a Marathon…some people started the race early, some are running without shoes…bt nobody got time for pity party… endurance is what matters…ill try HYP, despite the odds. & like Samuel L. Jackson, i’ll just work 10 times harder than those around me.</p>

<p>Being black doesn’t change that. No black person would count on blackness to get them over the hump in football, basketball or the 100m dash. We need to apply the same mentality to academics.</p>
