We gotta keep pushing through :)

I’ve finally compiled a shortlist of schools. I’ll cut it down to 9 by the summer.

Top choices:
Princeton
Stanford
MIT
UPenn

Still considering:
Johns Hopkins
Northwestern
Rice
USC
UVa
Urbana-champaign
UMich-Ann Arbor
Lehigh
Bucknell
Cornell
Yale

Definitely Applying:
University of Delaware honors college (state school)

I’ll probably major in ChemE

How about you guys?

I might just go to a CSU or a community college then transfer to save money:
UC-
Riverside
San Diego

CSU-
Sacramento
East Bay
San Diego

I’m not sure what I want to major in but I was thinking biocemistry or material science, just something science related.

Sent from my SPH-M910 using CC

I’m suffering
And FOREin if you want to transfer to a UC just go to a community college because its really hard to transfer from a CSU.

Ya I know but idk if I want to go to a UC if I could jus go to a CSU.

Sent from my SPH-M910 using CC

Man I’m unsure,

My list is this
Top 3
1.USC
2.Penn
3. Georgetown

Kinda wanna go
4.Stanford
4. UCLA
5.Duke
5. George Washington
6.U of Miami
7.UCSB?

Safeties
8.Howard
9.Hampton
10. ???

Applying for the hell of it:
11.Princeton
12. Yale
13. Harvard

I’m wondering if my list is solid, or just not really that great.

Here’s my long list:

Top three at the moment:

Others:
Duke
UCLA
Berkeley
Santa Clara
UCSB
Carnegie Mellon
Harvey Mudd
Occidental

(Guess I really want to go to sunny California!..And the top three are supposed to be “happy” schools.)

I’ll shorten the list once I visit the schools and know my SATs.

Does anyone know what the PSAT score cutoff is for National Achievement Scholar? Particularly in NJ?

MrAPMan & ilovemyego23,

We are considering a lot of the same schools…
Stanford, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, UCSB, UCLA, Berkeley, Rice, etc.

Have you checked out any of the schools yet? What did you think?

So what are your stats guys?

ZombieDante,

I’m rockin a 4.4(w); 3.8(uw) GPA

No SAT scores yet; 198 PSAT

4 years varsity soccer, nationally ranked club soccer, MUN, Civics & Government, NHS, Theater, tutor/mentor, lifeguard, etc…

You?

urtheman:
Stanford…hated it, but still applying
UCLA-BEST FOOD EVER! but no diversity…I mean I love me some asian people…but there is no diversity whatsoever.
Duke-I just put that on there cause…i like Austin Rivers…lol…Don’t know squat about the school though.
UCSB-I love the campus and the school. But…like the other schools, no diversity(This is really a problem for me regarding the UCs)
Howard/Hampton- Great schools however poor financial aid. I don’t know how I feel about going to a HBCU tho.

I honestly don’t know what my “stats” are since I don’t feel its important. I feel the character of one is more important that my “stats”

But I’m not going to act like I’m not a top student either. I just rather not discuss…Maybe in the results thread next year lol…

IS ANYONE APPLYING THRough Questbridge?

^^If character is more important than stats, I’m in trouble lol

What didn’t you like about Stanford?

Yeah, UCSB seems nice, except 3% AA…***?

I"m going on a HBCU college tour this spring break but I honestly don’t even think I’ll like any of them. We get to see howard and hampton but I’m most excited for Georgetown (even though it’s not an HBCU).
I’m applying to UW, Boston College, Boston University, Georgetown, MIT (just to chance it I mean why not?) I’m not sure about the others, what major are you guys interested in? I’m going to major in biochemistry.

What really I thought UCLA was the most diverse!?!

Sent from my SPH-M910 using CC

I won’t be applying to any HBCUs…
Personally, I don’t think they’d offer the same quality of education as a top PWI.
I want a school that’s filled with diversity-all meanings of the word.

I’m really freaking out about SATS ): …
I have the grades/ECs, but I really don’t want my SATs to hold me back.
