Hello,

Are there any black columbia students on here. i am thinking of applying there and i really want to know how the school is from a black perspective.. Like

who do you hang out with (race wise)

Are blacks scarcely around.

is there a strong black greek force

I know like 14% of the population at Columbia is black

There are black fraternities and sororities on Columbia’s campus. They don’t dominate, but they are present. I know a few of my friends are in these organizations, but I don’t think you need to be Greek in order to enjoy life at Columbia. Columbia has a very high percentage of black students compared to most universities. Although at most top schools, blacks tend to stick together. This is universal, but most minorities, in general, tend to stick together. I can’t speak from experience, but I have a few friends that go there. Some are Greek and some are not, but you will most likely get a superb undergraduate education there.
