black female applying to stanford...chance?

<p>Location: one of the top public high schools in middle Georgia
Race/Gender: Black Female
Prospective Major: Communications, Political Science or idk
Current GPA: im not exactly sure to be honest, between 3.6 and 3.9, its not fantastic
Current Grade: Junior
Class Rank: about top 15% out of 500
Haven’t taken SAT yet</p>

<p>Clubs:
im in about 10 clubs which i dont wanna list and im a class officer and blah blah all that good stuff but my strongest areas are FCA, track, and Model UN </p>

<p>Volunter:
over 200 hours with local volunteer organization with mentally retarded children, ive been on the city chamber of commerce board, sunday school teacher and church worship band</p>

<p>Other stuff:
iowa governors institue, im planning on LEAD america and governors honors program this year. ive done like local and state conferences in leadership and stuff which i dont need to list.</p>

<p>umm, any advice? like on the SAT or classes i should take senior year? along with being black, female, and upper middle class, im also not a US citizen, if that influences much....</p>

<p>If you are not US citizen, your chances will depend on your need for fin. aid as well as grades/scores/other stuff.</p>

<p>Luckily for you, fresman year does not count at Stanford. You need to take SAT I and SAT IIs. </p>

<p>Being black might help you, but it will not get you in.</p>

<p>exactly. being black doesn't hurt you by any means (except if you get in then ignorant people will think you only got in b/c you're black), but it's not like stanford admissions is gonna be like "oh...she's BLACK...IN!"</p>
