Can coaches continue to connect with prospective athletes throughout the admissions process? Or is there a black out period?
There is no blackout period that I know of at all but it could also possibly vary by school/sport? My daughter was contacted by coaches for varying reasons in January, February and March when she applied. And from the other side, she has conferred with her coach about prospective students all through the admissions process and she says he contacts them whenever he has time or someone brings a name to the forefront, there are no restrictions.
Some schools, including in ISL and Founders leagues, honor a quiet period in the 4-6 weeks leading up to M10. Coaches won’t initiate contact with athletes, but will answer generic questions from applicants if initiated by the student.
Adherence is not 100% from what we’ve seen.
We’re in Founders League and only applied to FL schools so yes, I guess it’s loosely followed depending on the coach/sport
